Protection & Liability Overview

Why We Are the Best Choice for Your Texas Move

At 99 Movers Houston, we take every precaution to ensure your belongings arrive safely at your new home. In accordance with Texas state law, we offer specific protections for your household goods. It is important to understand the difference between our legal liability and the cargo insurance we carry.

  1. Released Value Protection (Basic Liability)
This is the standard, no-cost liability option provided by all licensed movers in Texas.

    The Limit:
Our liability is limited to $0.60 per pound, per article.

    Example:
If a 50-pound item is damaged or lost, our maximum liability is $30.00 ($0.60 x 50 lbs), regardless of the item’s original purchase price.

  2. Full Value Protection for Smart TVs.

“While our basic liability is restricted by law, 99 Movers Houston provides special extended coverage for plasma TVs of up to $1,500 at no additional charge. To qualify for this extra protection, the
    following conditions must be met:

Verification: The TV must be turned on and tested in front of our team both at the start and completion of the move. If you fail to check your TVs, this guarantee will not apply once the movers have left your location.

For televisions over 75 inches, a protection fee of $1 per inch is required for coverage under our Full-Value Protection policy.

Exclusions: This coverage does not apply to moves involving storage units or situations where the customer provides their own moving truck.

For customers who desire more comprehensive protection beyond these options, you can purchase separate third-party moving insurance. Websites like MovingInsurance.com offer various policies—such as All-Risk or Named Perils—that can cover the full replacement value of your
    items during transit.”

  3. Cargo Insurance.

To protect our business and your shipment against catastrophic events, 99 Movers Houston maintains Cargo Insurance as required by the State of Texas. This policy provides financial protection for the household goods being transported on our vehicles in the event of:

    Traffic accidents or vehicle rollovers.

Fire or lightning damage while in transit.

Theft of the entire transport vehicle.

Our Cargo Insurance is officially filed with the TxDMV (Form H), ensuring we meet all state-mandated financial responsibility requirements for licensed movers.

What items will movers not move ? Movers won’t transport hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, propane, gasoline), plants, live animals, firearms, ammunition, cash, jewelry, and essential personal documents due to legal, safety, and liability reasons; these items are either dangerous to transport or too risky to lose, so you must handle them yourself.
